Enterprise Promotion For Sustainable Development (EP4SD)

Aide et Action (AEA) is implementing vocational training and microenterprise promotion projects in Meghalaya and Assam, focusing on transforming the lives of youth and women

 

The “Enterprise promotion for Sustainable Development” (EP4SD) jointly with ASRLMs and MSRLS aims to improve the living conditions and future prospects of 10,800 youths in 2 districts (Biswanath and Dibrugarh) of Assam and 2 districts (Ribhoi and East Khasi Hills) of Meghalaya.

  • Location : 2 districts (Biswanath and Dibrugarh) of Assam and 2 districts (Ribhoi and East Khasi Hills) of Meghalaya.
  • School dropout and BPL youth of ages 18-35 years, 50% women
  • Existing Self Help Group members, 75% women.
  1. Enhancement of Vocational Skills of Youths.
  2. Enhancement of Technical and Entrepreneurial Skills of SHG members.
  3. Promotion of Micro Enterprises.
  4. Access to Schemes, Credit & Market Linkages.
  • 4502 youths (Men – 1075, Women – 3427) have been trained on vocational skills out of which 1830 are self-employed, 489 are wage employed and 371 youth have set up micro-enterprises.
  • 6096 SHG members (Men–65, Women– 6031) have been trained on need-based skills, out of which 35% have reported an increase in income by 40% post-training.
  • 356 enterprises of SHG members have been promoted (341 individual enterprises and 15 group enterprises).
  • 80% of individuals trained have reported an increase in the average per capita annual household income by atleast 50%.

Equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to establish and grow successful enterprises in their communities.

Bridging the Gaps

While government initiatives often overlook school dropouts and the rural poor, our project fills this gap by offering vocational training that is accessible and relevant to these communities
