Noipunyo - Cluster Development For Livelihood Enhancement

The region of North east, specially Assam has struggled, due to a trend of lack in sustainable and economically viable livelihood options for youths, as well as lack of skill specific trainings for rural youth with consideration of their market needs and aspirations.

The “Noipunyo – Cluster Development for Livelihood Enhancement” project aims at improving the economic conditions future prospects by improving livelihood conditions of 1200 persons through formation of clusters and promotion of enterprises.

Marginalized women members from low income households aged 18 – 45 and at risk (disaster-prone, displaced, migrant) households

  1. Enhancement of Vocational Skills of Youths
  2. Enhancement of Technical and Entrepreneurial Skills of SHG members.
  3. Promotion of Micro Enterprises.
  4. Access to Schemes, Credit & Market Linkages.
  • 1092 individuals are trained (at least 50% are women), of which-350 bamboo artisans, 400 weavers, 350 farmers.
  • 400 existing / aspiring to be entrepreneurs out of the 1092 trained are capacitated on the required skills to set up their new own small-scale business unit or upgrade their business.
  • 150 micro enterprises are established by the end of the project.
  • At least 80% of the total trained individuals adopts the cluster specific livelihood activity that they were trained on.

Empowering Marginalized Women & Youth

The region of Northeast India, especially Assam, faces challenges like lack of viable livelihood options, skill-specific training, and economic opportunities. This project aims to address these issues through cluster development and livelihood enhancement.

Key Impacts

1,214 Individuals Trained

Out of which 350 bamboo artisans, 400 weavers, and 350 farmers have been trained.100% of them are women.

400 Entrepreneurs Capacitated

400 existing or aspiring entrepreneurs out of the 1092 trained have gained the skills needed to start or upgrade their small-scale businesses.

150 Micro Enterprises Established

By the end of the project, 150 micro-enterprises have been established, creating sustainable livelihoods for local communities.

80% Adoption of Livelihood Activities

At least 80% of the trained individuals have successfully adopted the livelihood activities specific to their respective clusters.
