Empowering Youth, Enabling Livelihoods...

India is a young nation, with approximately 34.8% of its population falling under the youth demographic, defined as individuals between the ages of 15 and 29. This demographic dividend presents a significant opportunity for economic growth and innovation.
However, this potential remains underutilized, especially in certain regions. The Northeastern region of India, comprising eight states, accounts for around 4% of the country’s total youth population. Despite its rich cultural heritage and natural resources, the region faces persistent challenges in terms of infrastructure, connectivity, and industrial development.
In the Northeast, these issues are compounded by geographic isolation, limited access to quality education and training facilities, inadequate employment opportunities, and sporadic political unrest. As a result, many young people from the region migrate to urban centers across the country in search of jobs, further straining metropolitan infrastructure and leading to a loss of local talent in their home states.
To address this growing challenge, there is a pressing need for comprehensive policy interventions focused on skill development, entrepreneurship support, infrastructure enhancement, and private sector participation.
